this is an exceptional and authentic 1930s Art Deco Italian Table Mirror, produced by Luigi Fontana & C. Milano. Luigi Fontana, whose company evolved into the renowned Fontana Arte, was a pioneer in Italian glasswork and design. The mirror showcases the classic elegance of the Art Deco period, featuring an attractive, unique tapered or arch-top shape with a stepped or triangular base. The glass itself is thick and heavy with beveled edges which beautifully catch the light, adding a sophisticated depth to the reflection—a hallmark of high-quality glass craftsmanship from the era. The piece is backed by a solid wooden frame, which has acquired a lovely patina consistent with its age. The rear of the mirror is stamped with the recognizable metal plaque bearing the company's early branding, "L. FONTANA & C. MILANO," which helps date the piece to the pre-Fontana Arte period before 1932-1933. It is equipped with an original metal stand/prop for use as a functional and decorative vanity or table mirror, but also has mounting points for potential wall display.
