1900 Amazing Judgenstil Silver Plated Tray by Albert Kohler for W.M.F.
A 1900 silver plated oval tray designed by Albert Kohler and Cie for WMF, twin handled, octagonal oval form embossed with geometric diamond corners and whiplash handles. Richly decorated with embossed patterns that combine the lyrical curves of Art Nouveau but at the same time hinting of the clean , geometric lines that would become the hallmark of “Art Deco”. the tray is in original condition, with normal signs of use and age all visible on the photos. WMF, short for Württembergische Metallwarenfabrik, is a prestigious German company known for its high-quality metalware and household goods. Known for its Art Nouveau (Jugendstil) designs, especially during the early 20th century. Pioneered electroplating techniques and mass production methods, making luxury-style wares accessible to a broader market.
