Product Details
This ceramic plate is a striking example of 1930s design, combining the elegance and sophistication of Art Deco with the forward-looking, energetic spirit of Futurism. It served as both a functional piece and a work of art, intended to be displayed as much as it was to be used. The plate has a perfectly round shape with a slightly raised edge, giving it a shallow dish-like appearance. The overall form is simple and elegant, allowing the design to take center stage. The surface of the plate features a bold and dynamic design, characterized by geometric shapes and abstract patterns. The pattern consists of a series of jagged, rectangular forms that seem to interlock or overlap across the plate. These shapes are airbrushed with a gradient effect, transitioning between shades of black, white, and a vibrant green. The airbrushing technique used here creates soft, diffused edges, lending a sense of depth and movement to the design, which is typical of both the Art Deco and Futurist styles.nAt the center of the plate, there is a small figure of a running gazelle symbolizing speed, emblem of the futurist movement. The plate has been made by Corrado Lucchesi in Sesto Fiorentino, it's in very good condition overall.
